About the HFI
- Healthy Families Initiative
- The Healthy Families Initiative is a grass-root movement, under the auspices of the Rhode Island Council for Muslim Advancement (RICMA), aimed at educating the Muslim community on the Islamic perspective on domestic violence. Our goals are to: a. Serve as a platform for Muslims experiencing domestic violence to access intervention resources and services available to the community at large b. Work in conjunction with the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence to educate advocates and professionals on the special needs of Muslims reaching out to them for help. c. Provide intervention programs to eradicate the occurrence of domestic abuse in the Muslim community.
